Long pepper, also known as pipli, is a spice derived from the dried fruits of the Piper longum plant, a slender, aromatic climber. The fruits are tiny, yellowish-orange drupes embedded in a fleshy spike. Long pepper has a spicy, citrusy, and sweet flavor, similar to but more complex than black pepper.
